Championship Quality Times Two
Congratulations to our Torah Bowl Team for being crowned the Eastern Division Champs!. For the second time in our 3 years in the Yeshiva League our talmidim distinguished themselves in their breadth and depth of Torah knowledge. After defeating DRS in the semi finals, the Mesivta went on to beat HANC for the division Championship Next up: The Regionals! Congratulations to our Flag Football Championship Team This past Sunday, at 2:00 PM the Lobos Longhorns took on the G.I. Jews in what was quite possibly the most exciting championship game in the Yeshiva Flag Football League's long history. It was a well played game on both sides of the field, filled with ups and downs, victories and defeats. But it was the Longhorns who emerged victorious from this heated battle of Titans.
It was one of those games where the Lobos Longhorns did exactly what they needed to do on all three phases of the game. Longhrom offense-man Motti Sturm and the rest of the offense did a great job controlling the clock. On the other end of the field, the team's defense completely shut down the G.I. Jews: on the pass rush, against the run, and in the secondary. Kicker Alex Silber came through with some well placed and well timed kicks. "When you put all that stuff together, a 27-12 win sounds about right. I'm proud of all the guys, and would like to give a double thanks to Shlomo Ashvil who played without shoes," said team captain Eliezer Waltuch.
