Why Ateres Yaakov

1Why Mesivta Ateres Yaakov? We are a mature, experienced institution that offers all the Limudei Kodesh, General Studies, and extracurricular programs our students want and need to succeed.

Our mission is to provide each student - both the high achiever and those who are just coming into their own – with the personal attention he requires. We are proud of our facilities, but are even more proud of the education our students receive and their subsequent success in life.

The educational philosophy of Mesivta Ateres Yaakov is based on the concept that the purpose of yeshiva is to prepare a talmid for all aspects of his future life. Therefore, every school experience becomes a means to achieve this goal. Each student possesses unique talents, abilities, strengths, and weaknesses, and our task is to identify, develop, and channel those qualities so he is presented with constant opportunities to grow in his Avodas Hashem. Through inculcating a profound love and abiding respect for limud HaTorah and providing a superior General Studies education, we prepare our talmidim to confront and succeed in a challenging world. This is facilitated by lifelong relationships with our Rabbeim who are strong role models for their talmidim.

Above all, and most important, is the constant emphasis on middos tovos, derech eretz and menchlichkeit. There are daily opportunities for this to be manifest, whether in the shiur, the classroom, the lunchroom, the gym, or the halls. This results in a spirit of camaraderie and closeness that permeates the entire institution. These are some of the ways in which we aim to ensure that our precious talmidimwill be dedicated to Torah, mitzvos, Eretz Yisroel, and Klal Yisroel in all their future endeavors. Whether learning in the finest yeshivas in Israel and America, excelling in their college education for which they have been comprehensively prepared, or ultimately embarking on stellar careers and establishing Jewish families which reflect the essence of Torah values, our graduates look to their beloved yeshiva to provide them the guidance and direction to fulfill their destinies in Klal Yisroel.
